Virginia Leonard approaches material as a living system in a constant state of transformation. Clay, lustre glazes, and resin do not conceal the process of making but extend it, preserving traces of melting, flowing, layering, and the interaction between different materials.

Her sculptural forms emerge at the intersection of control and chance. Rather than relying on symmetry or formal resolution, they are shaped by the natural logic of growth, accumulation, and transformation. As a result, Leonard's works are experienced as autonomous sculptural organisms in which technical precision is balanced by an openness to material experimentation.
