In Untitled 21, Vincenzo De Cotiis approaches form as a fragment of continuous material transformation. The volume of the vase is constructed through intersecting planes and subtle displacements, creating a sense of unstable balance between architectural structure and organic form.
Cast brass, hand-painted recycled fiberglass, resin, and sculpted Murano glass merge into a complex layered surface that preserves traces of time, manual intervention, and material tension. Translucent elements interact with light, revealing the depth of texture and the shifting nature of the volume.
The work exists at the threshold of sculpture and functional art, where function becomes an extension of material, and form is perceived as an autonomous spatial structure.
