The DC2626 vase continues an important strand within Vincenzo De Cotiis’ practice of creating unique sculptural vessels, in which the traditional vase becomes a starting point for an exploration of material. Here, recycled fiberglass, marble, stone, and Murano glass converge in a complex asymmetrical volume.
Sculpted glass plays a central role: its transparent, fluid form rises from the dense mineral base and appears to extend beyond its boundaries. The contrast between transparency and mass, smooth and richly textured surfaces creates a tension between fragility and monumentality. The work retains the recognizable typology of a vessel while asserting itself as an autonomous sculpture.
