2026 Hand-painted recycled fiberglass, marble, sculpted Murano glass, stone H 72 × L 47 × W 45 cm Unique piece
Vases occupy a distinctive place within Vincenzo De Cotiis practice and are conceived as unique sculptural objects. In DC2623, the familiar vessel form is almost dissolved: an elongated, asymmetrical volume emerges from recycled fiberglass, marble, stone, and sculpted Murano glass.
Rather than simply being juxtaposed, the materials appear to grow into one another. Transparent glass emerges from the dense, textured body, while irregular edges and exposed transitions between surfaces give the work the quality of an object shaped or transformed over time. De Cotiis brings together the natural and the man-made, transforming the vase from a functional form into an autonomous sculpture.
