2009 Belgian Glass, Silver-Plated Brass H 165 x L 155 x W 155 cm 20 + 4 AP
The pendant light DC606 embodies one of Vincenzo De Cotiis' defining ideas: transforming a functional object into an autonomous sculptural composition. Rejecting conventional symmetry, the artist creates a dynamic structure in which slender metal arms draw lines through space, while hand-crafted Belgian glass shades appear as independent sculptural forms suspended in delicate balance.
The dialogue between the lightness of the framework and the visual weight of the glass volumes creates a subtle sense of movement and tension. Light functions not merely as illumination but as an artistic medium, revealing transparency, reflections, and the constantly shifting character of the materials.
Like many of De Cotiis' works, DC606 exists at the intersection of art, architecture, and collectible design, transforming an everyday object into a spatial composition whose perception continuously changes with light, perspective, and the surrounding environment.
