In the Baroquisme series, Vincenzo De Cotiis reinterprets the Baroque tradition, freeing it from stylistic rigidity and mere ornamentation. The artist explores spatial illusion, the layering of forms, and material density as instruments of perception.
The thickness of strata, the play of light, colour, and reflection create a complex visual structure. Screens are treated as fragments of ruins, furniture as architectural reliefs, while Venetian glass sheds its decorative function and acquires sculptural autonomy.
The series presents Baroque not as a style but as a historical impulse — transformed into a contemporary spatial language.
