The Déchainements series was born from Vincenzo De Cotiis's journey to Beirut — a city where architecture exists in a state of continuous reconstruction and visual tension.
The works — tables, consoles, screens, mirrors, and glass chandeliers — are constructed on the principle of "explosive" geometry. Fragmented forms, open lines, and displaced volumes evoke a layered urban landscape, where distinct eras and aesthetics coexist without a strict system. Bronze castings, ceramics, glass, and photographic surfaces come together in compositions reminiscent of reconstructed architectural structures. The objects appear as disassembled and reassembled elements of the urban environment.
In Déchainements, architecture is translated into the scale of the object. Contrast and rupture become the foundation of a plastic language that reflects the dynamism of a city where past and present exist in perpetual interaction.
