Carved from a single block of green onyx, this coffee table is based on the translation of an industrial form into a natural material. The original structure is formed from welded metal sheets, which, under pressure, acquire a characteristic texture and deformations. The resulting form is then scanned and reproduced in stone using digital modelling and CNC machining.
Onyx, with its depth of colour and natural layering, lends the object a visual lightness that contrasts with the physical mass of the material. The result is a sensation of plasticity and fluidity, challenging the conventional perception of stone as a rigid and immovable matter.
The partially polished surface of the tabletop heightens the interplay of light and shadow, further intensifying the illusion of fragility and grace — while the material itself remains robust and substantial.
