In DC1735A, Vincenzo De Cotiis approaches form as a dense material structure existing between architectural volume and sculptural object. The monolithic geometry retains a sense of internal displacement, where the surface appears simultaneously heavy and fluid.
Hand-painted fiberglass creates an irregular matte texture that preserves traces of transformation and manual intervention. Light softly reveals the plasticity of the volume and the complexity of the material, reinforcing the object’s sense of restrained tension.
The work exists as an autonomous spatial form in which function becomes an extension of material and architecture.
