Ex Hale Wallpiece — a sculptural object that reproduces the form of a monumental cushion. Developing the approach established in the In Vein and In Hale series, the work explores the possibility of imparting soft contours to hard material.
Carved from a single block of natural stone, the form retains the visual softness of textiles, creating a contrast with the physical mass and density of the material. The subtly finished surface heightens this effect, producing a sensation of plasticity and an almost fabric-like pliability.
