In this work, Ben Storms continues the development of the In Hale Wall Pieces series, maintaining stylistic continuity while exploring variations in form. Each object captures a unique outcome of a process in which minor adjustments lead to distinct plastic solutions.

The form resembles an inflated metal cushion, creating an illusion of softness and lightness despite the object's considerable mass. Upon closer inspection, the gold leaf finish draws the eye — executed by hand using the technique of gilding in collaboration with master decorator Pierre-Yves Morel. The surface is meticulously covered with the thinnest sheets of 24-karat gold, approximately 0.12 microns thick.

The fragility of the material contrasts with the stability of the form: gold, ephemeral by nature, is fixed onto a heavy metal surface, intensifying the tension between visual lightness and the physical mass of the object.
