In DC2565, Vincenzo De Cotiis reimagines the mirror as a work of functional art. The asymmetrical frame traces a free contour around the reflective plane, while its bends, folds and overlapping sections evoke a form suspended in motion.
Cast brass and cast white bronze create a subtle contrast between warm golden and cool silvery tones. The frame’s irregular, highly tactile surface enters into dialogue with the smooth mirror and captures light from changing angles. The result is both a functional object and an independent wall sculpture.
