2013 Natural Brass H 100 × W 25 × D 30 cm 20 + 4 AP
DC1306B combines natural brass and light into a vertical architectural structure composed of rhythmically displaced metal elements. The geometry of the object retains a sense of movement and internal tension, creating a shifting interplay of light and shadow across the wall surface.
Natural brass reveals the depth of the material through irregular textures, traces of oxidation, and the natural transformation of the surface over time. Light is integrated into the construction as part of the material composition itself, reinforcing the graphic quality of the form and the spatial presence of the object.
The work exists between lighting object and sculptural structure, maintaining Vincenzo De Cotiis’ characteristic relationship between architecture, material, and light.
